The Cruise Liner SS CANBERRA and the Guided Missile Frigate HMAS CANBERRA took a unique historic maritime opportunity to meet at sea in the Pacific Ocean off California in 1981.

The images were taken from the SS Canberra and the HMAS Canberra, a period of 20 years has elapsed to finally bring the the different prospective's together.

Many Thanks to the following people who assisted me with the images and information:

Commodore Mike Bradford - SS Canberra
Steve Matthews - SS Canberra
Bob MacDonald - Cancomcrew

A year later SS Canberra was involved in the Falklands War in the South Atlantic as Troop Carrier and HMAS Canberra was home based in Sydney, Australia operating in the East Australian Exercise Area.
